The standard is the report, not the logo

Different claims may use different documents, vendors, workflows, and company entities. Every guide below uses the same evidence-based standard: verify the vehicle, inspect the comparables, understand the adjustments, audit the settlement math, and document any requested correction. Each page also highlights practical issues that may be especially useful when organizing correspondence for that carrier.

  1. 1. Decode the vehicle: VIN, trim, body style, drivetrain, engine, packages, and options.
  2. 2. Confirm mileage: check the loss-vehicle odometer and every mileage adjustment.
  3. 3. Review condition: support requested changes with pre-loss records and photographs.
  4. 4. Open every comparable: compare configuration, location, date, availability, and price.
  5. 5. Trace adjustments: identify the reason, direction, and amount of each calculation.
  6. 6. Audit settlement math: separate ACV, taxes, fees, deductible, payoff, and salvage.
